Key People

These people each had a role in the success of the app

Thijs Vandendriessche

Co-creator of the app

Hi, I'm Thijs and together with Roberto I made this app and blog.

I have always been fascinated by everything that's technology and software related. When I was younger this mostly meant gaming. It wasn't until my final school years, in the university, that I started thinking about using my fascination for technology in a professional context.

As a student Personnel Management and Industrial Psychology at the university of Ghent I had the chance to enroll in a class teaching programming. This was the first step I took in gaining the skills necessary to create my own projects in the world of technology.

I look forward to learning and creating future projects! Feel free to contact me through my LinkedIn here.

Roberto Hugaert

Co-creator of the app

Hello, my name is Roberto and together with Thijs I made this app and blog.

I’m a strong believer in technological advancement. The 21st century seems to be driven by technology and this should be embraced. I believe that being a psychologist and being technically inclined are not mutually exclusive.

I also like being creative in my free time and I love to learn new things. This is a great combination as making new things always comes together with trying to grasp new concepts.

With an optimistic outlook I hope to further develop my skills! You can contact me via LinkedIn here.

Dr. Prof. Eva Derous

Dr. Prof. Eva Derous

Expert on the topic of discrimination

Eva Derous is a professor in organizational psychology at the University of Ghent. It was through her lectures that we first discovered the term Adverse Impact.

We are incredibly grateful that she took the time to let us present our app to her and give her expert opinion on what we were doing. Her insights were incredibly valuable and allowed us to strengthen our app even further!

Dr. Prof. Peter Dawyndt

Dr. Prof. Peter Dawyndt

Expert in programming

The professor that helped us learn the ropes of programming. Peter Dawyndt was our teacher in coding. Even though we started with zero knowledge about the subject his beginner friendly classes allowed us to quickly grasp the basics. These classes gave us a strong foundation to build our knowledge on in the future.

He achieved this by using his self made programming learning platform: Dodona. That supported us with meaningful feedback on our exercises.

Fatoesh Fotografie

Young photographer

Fatoesh aided us by providing us with pictures in a professional context. On her Instagram account she promoted a project she was working on. In order to gain experience she offered a free professional business shoot to young entrepreneurs.

We contacted her and it resulted in some amazing photos and a nice collaboration.

You can find her on Instagram here.

Gerald Versluis

Software engineer at Microsoft

As a software engineer at Microsoft, Gerald shares his knowledge through his YouTube channel. His videos were a guiding beacon in teaching us C#, XAML and Xamarin.Forms.

Providing bite sized knowledge about the many possibilities within the Xamarin.forms platform. It was his channel that gave us the necessary information needed to go from"We know how to write a script" towards a "we can write our logic and know ways to let our user interact with it."

His videos gave us the perfect starting point to start experimenting with different features and gave us building blocks we could learn and create with.

Prof. Dr. Bart Van de Ven

Prof. Dr. Bart Van de Ven

Expert in work related psychology

Bart Van de Ven provided us with fantastic feedback and mentoring early in our journey. He did this by giving us the time of day even though we were still just two enthusiastic but directionless students. At that point we were still searching for a concept to make into a first idea.

For giving us his time and advice we are eternally grateful.

Willy Macquoy

Willy Macquoy

Legal Advisor at Wetswinkel VZW

We could not answer all the legal questions ourselves. To get answers we decided to contact "De Wetswinkel" a volunteer based legal advice bureau.

It''s here that we came in contact with Willy Macquoy who helped us on our way. We had the possibility of sending our documents, such as our privacy policy, upfront and then have an hour long session where we get feedback and advice.

Willy Macquoy helped us with his expertise and made us focus on the things that really mattered.

Our friends and family

Our friends and family

Experts in love and compassion

In our journey we could count on our family and friends to provide insights and feedback when we asked for help. They aided us in testing our app on different devices. They helped us discover our blind spots and supported us throughout our app building journey.

They most certainly deserve a mention in the key people section!
